Phlebotomy is the practice of collecting blood specimens for medical testing, donation, research, and other healthcare purposes.

PETC's Phlebotomy Training is structured as a 2-week program. Available class dates and schedules can be found on the Class Schedule & Enrollment page.

PETC's Phlebotomy Training includes instruction and practice related to venipuncture, specimen collection, HIPAA, safety procedures, and CPR/First Aid. The hands-on training may include up to 50 blood draws as students develop practical blood-collection skills.

Phlebotomy students must be at least 17 years old, have a high school diploma or GED, provide a negative TB test, and wear black or navy scrubs for training.

Yes. PETC's Medical Assistant Training includes hands-on ECG lead-placement practice as part of the training experience.

PETC's in-person Phlebotomy Technician program is currently included on Michigan's eligible Career Training Programs list for the Michigan Achievement Skills Scholarship. Students who meet State of Michigan requirements may receive up to $4,000 over two years. Eligibility, award amounts, and continued program availability are determined by state program administrators and are not guaranteed by PETC.

If you plan to use a scholarship, Michigan Works!, or another outside funding source, contact PETC before completing online payment so the correct enrollment and authorization steps can be confirmed.

No. The Request Information form sends your questions and contact details to PETC, but it does not register you for a class, reserve a seat, or complete payment.
